Covered! 05/15/08 80’s Edition!

I know it’s been a while since you’ve gotten some good cover tunes so I tried to come up with a little something special. I know I have some 80’s music fans out there (namely my wife) so I thought I’d share some of the better 80’s covers out there (that I could find).

We’ll go in chronological order…

1983:Girls Just Wanna Have Fun made popular by Cindy Lauper. Covered by Greg Laswell. (Live Fan Vid. - It’s the best I could find)

1984: Against All Odds by Phil Collins. Covered by The Postal Service for the movie Wicker Park. Here’s the video.

1985: Careless Whisper by George Michael (while with WHAM!) Covered by Ben Folds and Rufus Wainright. (poor video quality - please stick out to the end)

1986: Take My Breath Away by Berlin. Covered by Copeland (no, not Jessica Simpson).
