More Christmas Songs? Really?
So I know it seems like all I ever talk about anymore is music. Sorry? – kinda? Anyway, I like it and I’m always on the lookout for new and notable music. In doing so I wanted to maybe find some non-traditional Christmas music to listen to – because to be honest I get tired of the regular rotation on the “All Christmas” radio stations. I don’t really need to hear the newest American Idol’s rendition of Santa Baby.
Well if you are like me and want some new and different stuff check out the mix of songs here. Some highlights off of this list for me are Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas by Hem, That Was The Worst Christmas Ever by Sufjan Stevens, and All I Ever Get For Christmas Is Blue by Over The Rhine. If you are feeling even more adventurous you can try this mix of Christmas songs. These songs are all done by “Swedish Pop” bands and are a little more electronica drive. One of my favorites is Christmas Reindeer by The Knife.

If there was ever a Christmas song that needed to be redone, it’s Feliz Navidad. That song is pure genius, and EVERYONE loves it. It shouldn’t be too hard, it only has like 4 different sentences to memorize. Let me know when your studio is set up, because I’m gonna make it big… I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart (followed by cheesy trumpet repeat). Pure Gold.
